  The spot is great...the size the piece of land provides is nice but dont open up the cabinets unless you are ready to clean them up because you will be disgusted. There was large water roaches, red soda spills, & leftover food crumbs from prior guest in
  the cabinets, drawers, etc. Also, do not dare pick up the coach cushions or lift rugs unless u want more surprises. Nonetheless, the decks, patio areas, and views are amazing. Not to mention the fishing from the front yard yields plenty of fish for a fish
  fry!

  The only issue we had with the property was an odor that smelled like mold. It was really bad on the bottom floor of the main house and kind of bad on the second floor. Otherwise, everything was great!

  Overall was very nice, nice setting, nice location. Could have been cleaner in the odd spots, under couch, behind tv, etc. Needs some minor repairs, nothing to ruin the stay, just what you would expect for the money. Nice for 2 families but could be easier to get between the 2 houses. Nice sitting areas under the homes. Downstairs room a/c doesn't work all night and the room has a musty smell.

  I was in the process of typing a letter to detail our experience when this came through.
  The houses themselves were Great ! The house was not cleaned ( and when I say not cleaned I mean not cleaned. Starting with dead and live roaches ( I know they are in the area but more than 5-6 were so dead they had dust and dirt on them, others up to 10 or more were crawling around and others too were dead in plain sight - all of these in the main house.) When we walked in and set bags down in the bottom detached bedroom the beds looked like someone had sat or laid on them ( Not our crew) and the bathroom had red sticky stains on the floor at the entry of the bathroom and a nasty partially dry wash towel and old soap with hair attached and dried to it in the shower floor. The list I made was 2 pages long but here are a large number of the issues. Main house had all countertops dirty - visabily so that we had to wipe all of them down before touching or sitting things down, bathroom and kitchens all surfaces. Food on the stove top on the back area and crumbs all on the counter by it. Microwave was clean. Refrigerator had sticky tan spots in it - 3 areas, master bedroom floor was not swept( actually the whole house in BR's and kitchen and living area was not mopped or swept. THere were 3 roaches in Master BR laying behind the side table laying in a very heavy layer of dirt and dust ( again all very visiable to anyone upon walking in. The dirtiness was apparent ( it was not something that we had to open doors or drawers to notice we touched something - any surface it was not cleaned. The previous guests did not start the DW so dishes were still dirty in the DW. The couches had stains ( which is normal) but there was white hair on the love seat. I used tape from a drawer to roll over areas with pet hair. Maintenance was okay but the stove does not work above 375degrees when it gets there it according to the hanging thermometer it jumps to 450 !! I burned 2 rounds

  Thanks to Billie for all of her assistance with many changes relating to the tropical storm. She was a huge help.
  
  We did not find the property mgt. team to be very helpful or knowledgable. They started off by refusing to provide my brother with directions and misc. info. and they had no information relating to procedures for tropical storms and hurricanes. They did call back, but I believe this team should be fully up-to-speed on these items at all times based on the frequency of gulf-related storms.
  
  Finally, the window shutters for the guest house need to be fixed as these large windows face directly into the sun.

  We would recommend this rental to everyone. It is spacious with wonderful views. Dos Casas easily accomodated our family of 11 with room to spare. I would recommend to bring your own towels.

  Wood floors could have been cleaner-going barefoot gave you dirty feet. Would recommend a dust mop or swiffer type mop for daily cleaning of traffic areas. Toilets in small house and downstairs were dirty-we had to clean them. Cleaning crew didn't do a good job for the money. Would suggest more seating area in main house living area for when everyone is watching movies. Furnishings were great-loved the sleep number bed. Kitchens were very well equipped with lovely serving pieces. Patios & decks had nice furnishings & landscaping. Loved the design of the smaller house-my daughter wants to replicate it in Dallas and live there. Very glad they had a gas grill. Great arrangement for multi-family groups. Wish ceiling fan in master bath worked. Would definitely stay here again.

  Several advertised amenities were not able to be used. Boat lift was broken, we had to leave our boat tied up in the canal and adjust for tides and with boat in water all the time left a bad stain on boat hard to remove, we had looked forward to this and was one of the amenities we look for in a rental. Smaller house had no walk over on the boat dock or lift. Hammock was ripped down the middle unable to use. Lawn was not cut during the entire 9 day stay. Need more trash cans, trash was over full when arrived from prior guest, we had to leave trash bags on the ground not a pretty site. Fan and light dimmer and speed control switches are confusing. Overall both houses have GOOD A/C and washer & dryer which was a big plus and we enjoyed the larger space so we could spread out to fish and have fun.

  WOW what a wonderful trip. The houses were/are beautiful and so comfortable. This was a "family" vacation to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and I was a little worried that it would not meet the expectations of everyone but was I wrong! Everything was wonderful! Beautiful homes, beautiful landscape and everything we needed and more!

  It was an excellent place for the children to fish being on the canal. They loved it! A short drive to the beach was fine and give us a chance to explore more of the island. The Property Manager was excellent to work with. A few important items did not work, however i.e. the ceiling fans and a hard to open siding door. We also had to do a general cleaning before beginning our stay. Wiping down bathrooms, kitchen counters and sweeping the floor. Written instructions for locking the siding glass doors would be good. A note about the room with the twin beds having a separate entrance on the web should have been written. It made us change the sleeping arrangements where the children slept. Above all else an excellent value and a nice home.

  This is really a nice place especially for the money! There is room for everyone. The only draw back was I felt they could do a better job with the roach patrol. But it IS by the water. We would like to stay again sometime.
